Special BOD Meeting/Call - Office Building Sale - October 22
As announced at the May 2015 BOD meeting, the Virginia Jaycees have been attempting to sell its office building in Lynchburg, VA since 2008 when the BOD first voted to sell the building. In 2013, the Virginia Jaycees BOD reaffirmed its decision to sell the building. This year, Camp Virginia Jaycee has offered to purchase the building; The 2015 executive team has agreed to this purchase.
Per the requirements of the real estate agreement, the Virginia Jaycees is required to provide an "appropriate resolution by the Board of Directors authorizing the conveyance and/or encumbrance by the Corporation and authorizing certain specifically identified corporate officers to execute, acknowledge and deliver deeds, mortgages and other documents required for the transaction or the same must be contained in the proposed instrument or instruments to be insured."
To move forward with a vote on such an "appropriate resolution," a Special Meeting of the Board of Directors (conducted by conference call) has been called for October 22, 2015 at 8pm per a majority vote by the Virginia Jaycees Executive Committee.
