About the Virginia Jaycees
The Virginia Jaycees (Virginia Junior Chamber) are a leadership development and community impact organization for young adults ages 18–40. We exist to help people grow into confident, capable leaders by giving them real opportunities to lead projects, serve their communities, and build skills that carry into every part of life. We are non-partisan and non-denominational.
We are part of JCI USA, a national organization led by young people, for young people. JCI USA brings together members who want to create positive change, and it offers a platform of programs, projects, training, and events that help members develop leadership skills while making a real impact. Please view the movie below to learn more about the history of the Jaycees in the US.
JCI USA is also part of Junior Chamber International (JCI) — a global movement of young leaders connected across 5,000+ communities in 100+ countries. Together, we share ideas, partner across borders, and learn from one another’s projects and leadership experiences.
At every level, our purpose is simple and clear: to provide leadership development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change.
What we do
Why people join
Members join to build leadership skills, find community, and turn big ideas into action — in a place that believes young people aren’t “too young” to lead.
…No matter what project we’re leading, the purpose stays the same: build better leaders and stronger communities. Service to Humanity is the Best Work of Life.
