The Virginia Jaycees are excited to be joining the fight to end malaria!
At the Fall 2020 State Meeting, President Eboni challenged the state to fundraise $2,000 for Nothing But Nets before the Spring 2021 State Meeting. Chapters and individual Jaycees are encouraged to fundraise virtually from their family, friends, Jaycee alumni, Life-Members, and Senators.
In 2016, the Junior Chamber International (JCI) established an official partnership with Nothing But Nets (NBN), a global grassroots campaign founded in 2006 to raise awareness, funds, and voices to fight malaria. NBN has raised over $70 million to help deliver 13 million bed nets to families in need, along with other crucial malaria interventions like diagnostics, treatment, and training of healthcare workers.

About Malaria
Every two minutes, a child dies from malaria, a disease caused by a single mosquito bite. Malaria is preventable and treatable, with a life-saving, insecticide-treated bed net and other malaria prevention tools and treatment. In 2019, there were 219 million new cases of malaria worldwide and 435,000 deaths, 70% of which were children under five. Nearly half of the world’s population is at risk of malaria.
